Hank's Fine Furniture Makes Annual Gift to Arkansas Children’s Hospital
Multi-year pledge to benefit the Hematology/Oncology unit in Children’s Hospitals new South Wing.
Little Rock, Arkansas - Hank Browne, President of Hank's Furniture Inc. will be presenting a check to Arkansas Children’s Hospital as part of a multi-year pledge on Tuesday, September 22, 10:30 am at the Hank's & More Furniture store, 1000 S. Bowman in Little Rock.
Hank’s is looking toward the future of Arkansas Children’s Hospital with a multi-year pledge to benefit the hematology/oncology unit in the hospital’s soon-to-be-constructed South Wing. An infant/toddler playroom in the unit will be named his company’s honor and will provide a protective environment that will allow children to use their imagination and have fun. Hank’s gift embraces the words in the lobby of the hospital, “Fear not illness…this place of care, love and hope is for you.”
"This year it is our pleasure to give Arkansas Children’s Hospital, serving all of Arkansas, our gift of $20,000.00. We are pleased to be a part of the funding effort to keep Arkansas Children's Hospital on the cutting edge of scientific research to help continue their commitment to the well-being of seriously ill and injured children in our community," said Browne.
Seventeen years ago, Hank’s Fine Furniture began donating a portion of the proceeds during their anniversary month sale to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. To date, the proceeds have total over $430,000. While most of the money has been designated to areas of greatest need which include charity care and patient care, one gift provided a specific piece of equipment. In 2006, the funds raised during the annual anniversary sale were used to purchase a Giraffe Omnibed for the neonatal intensive care unit at ACH.
In 2008, Hank expanded on his support for Arkansas Children’s Hospital by hosting a special pre-grand opening at his newest store in West Little Rock. At this event, patrons were given the opportunity to purchase a stuffed animal and donate the animal to the patients at ACH. Hank not only gave all the proceeds to the hospital but also provided a way for his customers to give back. With the overwhelming support from employees and customers, Hank’s donated more than 400 animals to the hospital.
The entire Hank’s Fine Furniture team is dedicated to making a difference through their support of Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
